What If I Told You Poem by Heidi Wiggin

What If I Told You

Rating: 5.0

What if I told you
I hated her for pretending to care
And for saying she ever loved me
What if I told you
She dressed me up for her to look good
And home schooled me to hide the bruises
What if I told you
I owed her five thousand sentences
And she watched the Thanksgiving Day game
What if I told you
I stole over fifty bucks from her
And she stole my childhood
What if I told you
I snuck out and caused mischief
And she read my diary at the dinner table
What if I told you
I cried in front of her
And she laughed in my face

I hate this word but wow! ..... this really did grasp my attention, and if this be a biographical write, bless you for your having to deal with it... i know only too well the pain and anguish of feeling let down by your role models.... im glad you had the tenacity and strength to wreak revenge in small parts, wish i had, , although 50 bucks for a childhood is hardly a good deal....i hope your talent for writing at least eases the burden a small way as it does for me....thank you very much and good luck in your writing endeavours...karen
