What If Poem by Bancroft Boreland

What If

Rating: 4.5

Do you want the rays of the sun?
Or the tears of the clouds?
Should I whisper my love?
Or should I sing it aloud?

What if this was a colorless world
Then you’d be the brightest part of my everyday
What if I hungered
Would you feed me with your love?
What if I were blind
I’d still paint a picture of you
Even if I was deaf
If you whispered to me I’d still hear you
What if in our world
The forces of nature didn’t apply
Then maybe we could
Just float above the world for awhile
We wouldn’t have to work
Neither of us would ever be hurt
What if the world had no rules?
No boundaries, no limit
What would you do?

What if you had the choice to
Live forever without me
Or to die with me
What would you do?
Without you the alphabet has no letters
And nothing matters
My further would become my past
But what if you are just a dream
Then my every breathe
Is my every death.
