What I Want Poem by Myra Smith

What I Want

I don't want to cry anymore I want to smile.
I don't want to be out-dated I want to be in style.
I don't want to be afraid I want to be sure.
I don't want to struggle I want to be secure.
I don't want an enemy I want a friend.
I don't want to lose I want to win.
I don't want to doubt I want to know.
I don't want to die I want to grow.
I don't want darkness I want light.
I don't want to do wrong I want to do right.
I don't want to fail I want to succeed.
I don't want to give to the rich but to those in need.
I don't want to rush I want to take my time.
I don't want to be dull I want to shine.
I want to be a good servant and learn to lead.
I don't want to be selfish and full of greed.
I don't want to jealous and full of hate.
I don't want to settle for good I want to be great!
I don't want to be bound I want to be free
I don't want to be you I want to be me.
