What I Remember Poem by A. Carmichael Lindsay

What I Remember

Encroached in my metamorphosis

Delving deep into the unknowns of my soul

What i remember…

As a woman child, is your sheltering love

In the decadence of my earthly learnings

The myopic inclination to stick to the past and present

What i remember…

Teachings of the wordly ways, the truth

Yet through your eyes

The fire to grow kept burning

The reality of the future kept knocking

What i remember…

The rattling essence of my moulding into what I am today,

Me.
