What Have I Become? Poem by Jen..Jennifer Or Just Me

What Have I Become?

Rating: 5.0

Being backstage, you'll put on your costume. You're ready to face you're going out front soon.
You walk out from behind the curtain, you're head is held high, and you pretend to be certain.
The confidence you hold is just a sad disguise, and you'll ask yorself, 'I do this why? '
You're out on the stage with all eyes on you, you keep on wishing this play was thru.
You know the act is not near being done, take a deep breath, and ask, 'what have I become? '
Keep holding that invinsible pride, you always keep the crowd extremely alive.
The audience is watching, and admiring you, they're on the edge of their seats judging your every move.
You keep everyone intrigued, and you have their attention, but they're always looking for your imperfection.
People are waiting on you to fail, and they never want to see you do well.
But none of this will effect your act, this is no sweat off of your back.
You'll keep acting the way you should, just to prove that you are that good.
You'll never be done with this play, so you will have to except the things you will face.
It won't be over until the fat lady sings, so continue to wait for the hurt of each scene.
Then the drama is finally done, the curtain will fall, but you still can't run.
At this moment you will give your best smile, wave bye to the crowd, but it's only for a little while.
Tomorrow the show will continue to go on, and once again you'll ask yourself, 'what have I become? ' -Jen, Jennifer, or Just Me
