What Became Of The Day Poem by Paul Reed

What Became Of The Day

Now that the sun has shone
And burned itself inside out
Now that you have left me all alone
With just myself to doubt
The day that has just left me
Seems an eternity away
A different age when we ran
And lost ourselves in the play
What can have become
Of the bright and hopeful morn
What persuaded the evening
To steal away the dawn?
