What A Man's Thinking Poem by Matthew Zeller

What A Man's Thinking

Rating: 3.0

And just what business is it of yours
to decipher what a man’s thinking?
Is there a hidden meaning behind
the choice between bacon and eggs
versus Fruit Loops today?

A gem of wisdom somewhere in
the cologne he wore when you
fell in love with him versus
the bottle you bought two weeks ago?
Would you feel more secure
if you discovered his first thought
in the morning, typically,
is whether or not the Yankees won?

When he is working, he works.
When he is playing, he plays.
When he is loving, he loves.
Let him be. He does not need
your permission to be
any more than you do.

He loves you when you,
confident in who you are,
are who you are.
Now, in your own way,
strut as he struts.
That’s who he fell in love with.
