I have called and re-called you,
over and over,
re-thinking all that I would say,
until there was nothing left but the beebing of my heart.
I have written and re-written of you,
re-writing every word,
putting my soul into every line,
until all that remained was the pure essence of all that I wanted to say.
I have drank and re-drank,
only to regain normality,
as it was, and shatter the altered state, back to a new reality.
I have painted and re-painted,
your other self, with all the colours of my life,
that I may banish all that I see in you,
and transfer you to a fading image.
I have thought and re-thought,
of only you all the long lonely night,
until I drifted into a deep sleep,
crowded with angry dreams.
I have cried and re-cried,
all of a flooding river, breaking banks,
to find a quiet piece of shore.
All this I have done for you,
all for you, and more, now..
welcome to my world!
welcome to my nightmare!
welcome to my war!
