Weep Not Poem by V Neelakandaru Bhattathiri

Weep Not

You weep for what?
Is it not you forget Him,
So you weep for 'nothing'

Tears are unmanly
But laugh is manly
It is laugh the Lord wants.

Weep for things mundane,
Gnaws at your powers of mind,
The Lord doesn't like it

Laugh is the balm,
The pure blessing of the Lord.
Hence laugh at that,
That which makes you weep.
