We Won Poem by Simon Chamoun

We Won

Wondered for quite a while when my actual life had begun
The actual answer I got never stunned me to be the one
The day I met you my Earth had spun
Drew the cards of your black eyes the jackpot of life I won

Static before you appeared a lifeless living, no wonder
A cloudless rainless storm no lightening, no thunder
You are the start of my life Randa…a light of love so tender
My black and white existence with your colors got rendered

The devil that came upon us haunting our serenity
Devouring you from the inside eating my aching heart with it
Yet your love-of-life outshone it your sparkle won the fight
As long as you outlive me I'll hold you right and tight
Forever keep you in my heart my sun and stars so bright
My beacon towards eternity my universe of a trillion skies
