We Went With Our Heart Poem by Verilyn Titus

Through life's door we went with our heart...
To make a life of our own so like you we could make a new start...
Not to exclude, lessen or leave out anyone...
But rather to hear 'we're proud of you' or 'job well done'...
Rather we have been chastised and berated like no other...
By our Father, sister and Mother...
To create the world as they live in it...
Not to be allowed to experience a dib it...
Due to past mistakes and shortcomings of their own...
And I'm glad God gave me a life of not being alone....
Because then and only then would I have to deal...
With things of the past and those that are ill....
So, sue me if I left too soon or you feel abandoned...
Just remember where I sit from where you are standing.
