We Need To Change (1)

Well satisfied in what we do
Content most every way
In faith we say, “I’m born anew
Now death, has nought to say”

But are we true to all we speak?
To all in Christ believed?
Is truly God! The One we seek?
Or are we yet deceived?

The Spirit searches to and fro
He seeks the truth within
Is Jesus pleased the way we go?
Or are we steeped in sin?

I look within, through selfish eyes
Exposed; the truth I see
But quick disguise it all with lies
Return to serving “ME”

So arrogant, so proud as this
So sure I’d never fall
So full of self, how could I miss?
The value of it all

Twas talk, talk, talk, for worthless gain
A life of selfish deeds
No thought about another’s pain
No thought about their needs

Forgive me Lord, for thoughts as these
For deeds unlike Your own
Forgive me for my words and please
Forgive my heart of stone

While life yet runs within my veins
By grace, I’ve seen The Light
I thank my God there yet remains
A time to put things right…PTO…
