We Can't Do What We Like Poem by Veeraiyah Subbulakshmi

We Can't Do What We Like

when Zoo started to accumulate,
brutes of six mighty continents,
homes where human dwell to scheme,
doomed to be prisons for their crimes.

no warriors to show guns and bombs,
no soldiers in bunkers aim for tombs,
no ships anchored with flying saucers,
cooped meaty and skinny chicken not in coup.

vast universe with billions of blinking hosts,
what we find on earth also there in these abode,
Creators of lights, waves and algorithms,
not protected from effects of multiplying agents.

the day we surveyed to build Zoo of mass destruction,
that day decided our today's imprisonment..
