‘we be the night'
‘we be the night'
So
Murmured the pines
The day be fading
And
It experiencing
Whit be
A fading.
Silent and broken-hearted
Sitting on the white rocks
The Poet-Seer
Saw the day
Waning
Saw the day fading
Fading
Fading
Its last claws clinging
To the white slippery
Rocks of liquid
Mercifully.
Erect
The Poet Seer saluting
The vessel into port
Of silent dusk
Erect
The Poet Seer lost not
Of his nobility
Nor of his verse
His elegiac chant and
Voice
And sang the Elegy
