Nobody wants to just be a statistic
A number on a graph, or a pie chart
Our lives should be something more realistic
Or else it's like a dagger through the heart
Nobody wants to not mean something special
To just be disregarded at the end
To not have lived up to their life's potential
Or not have many influential friends
Nobody wants to miss life's rich beginnings
From what you learn in childhood and beyond
And everyone wants more than a small innings
And needs a family with a unique bond
Nobody has to feel they are expendable
Someone who doesn't matter, or a pain
Everyone needs someone indispensible
Someone at your side to take the strain
So, no-one should feel they are a statistic
A number, figure, that is hardly fair
Everyone should just feel optimistic
And then there'll be no need for this despair
