We Are Angels Poem by Gregory (gshaw57) Upshaw

We Are Angels

As a young child
I was a kindred spirit
Of another time and era
With the stubbornness of a bull—

I was a guardian angel
Who travel through time constantly seeking
My ancestors of the past
Then at the age of fifteen
You emerged my Italian sister—

Our souls connected once again
We have been reborn
Into these earthly bodies
To enjoy the wonders of this life—

We hip-hop and rock
The winding roads
With our mortal dates
We traveled
And
Visited the islands
Smelling the air of the ocean shores—

We worshipped our God
With our endless-souls
Then whistled through the northerly winds—

For my sister, we were intimate lovers
Of the spirit—no angels no more—

We desire the life of mortals
Knowing that our destiny
Will end someday—

Then at the age of nineteen
Our sister came to us
With her fiery-red-spirit
And
Fearless nature
We were one—once again
Three angels united
Of the spirit—

We lived the life
Of campus kids
Sought the fruits
Of passionate love
Endure the pains
Of human sorrow
And
Survive the terror of demon seeds—

Now, my dear angel spirits
Here we are once again
Walking the shores of God’s creation
Sharing the stories
Of generations past
Floating on clouds
Of heaven’s might
And
Sharing the light
That leaves the night—

Well my sisters
Its time
I see—for us to part
To take our leave
From this mystical spot—

We will meet again
This I know
To celebrate
And
Liberate our souls once more—

Until then, my sisters
I send you my love
With cherish gifts
To remember us all
With our spirits
Overseeing us all—
