Wax Hearts Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Wax Hearts

Wax figures danced under the wind
they danced if their legs couldn't grow tired
they danced before the spell of love was cast
the bottoms of their heels graced the coffee table with much delight
small footprints that kissed the pages of newspapers & remotes
as their reflection shone off the picture frame of their creator
they'd spin they'd twirl
the sound of their laughter made them feel whole
not knowing the granduer of heaven they praised the hands
that created them for knowing the simple pleasures clay hands could feel
they breathed each others aroma as each moment tasted better than the next
they danced before the spell of love was cast
they danced if their legs couldn't grow tired
she was made in the image of an angel
as for him
he was made to love her as together they'd be the only thing they both knew
romance grown from which the likes their creator had never known
each grasp of their hand became tighter
the glances in their eyes became deeper
eurphroia grew from the smooth touch of clay that was her waist
they'd step they'd sway
as they contunued their dance in front of the studio auidence that breifly shone against the color tubes flashed inside the televison
cheers that scremed encore shook the crowd as every inch of their soul was explored on the coffee table
he adored her as her hand breifly graced across the buttons attched to his chest
she found her blight for everytime he'd spin her around he'd cress the still wings against her back
testimonies confessed by the clay figures whom found paradise in the gemstones used for eyes
they'd gleam against the off shore light found in the corner lamp which symbolised their sunset
clay figures that loved without bounds
cryptic fires that long only for hush
as they contunued to dance
her foot slipped off the table followed by his
their bodies crashed against the floor shattering into pieces hand in hand
as their memory lasts forever
