Watch Them Poem by Timothy Branch

Watch Them

Do so but not from afar.
Do so from first person close.
Watch them not through reports but birdseye close.
Not through what you have heard but because you heard.
Not behind what someone said in counsel but because you took time to counsel.
Not because someone else sheared coats and trimmed nails but you did so because you cared.
Not leading according to their liking or the whims of some of them but because you are there to provide leadership to all of them.
Ever seen a shepherd grazing under the watch of shepherding sheep?
Get this leadership thing right.
Watch them or lose them and don't wonder why.
