Wasted On You Poem by Em Jay Christian

Wasted On You

The last breath I will waste on you,
Is the breath is takes to say 'I'm Sorry.'
I am sorry for your heart,
I told you I can't be trusted.
Don't call it malevolence,
I told you this would happen,
People Change.
The first breath I wasted on you,
Was the breath it took to say,
'Don't fall in love with me,
I break things.'

The last money I will waste on you,
Is the price of ink and page.
A goodbye letter in a sense,
Distant all the same.
I'll leave out the embelishments,
You are a coward and a child,
Grow Up.
The first money I wasted on you,
Was the price I had to pay,
For young love,
One long distance call.

The last touch I will waste on you,
Will be the caress of fist to jaw,
That one's for my Mother,
Tell me just who you think you are.
And I would spit in your face,
Anger becoming more and more obscene,
You're Worthless.
The first touch I wasted on you,
Was the brush of fingertips.
And you reached out and held my hand,
And I thought that made you brave.

The last feeling I will waste on you,
Will be pity at your fate.
No longer will I sheild you,
An end to gentle censorship,
You're Pathetic.
The first feeling I wasted on you,
Was the love I was afraid to have.
I spent 5 years of my life on you,
You spent 5 minutes walking away,
You were such a waste.
