Wasn'T Ready Poem by Destiny Bates

Wasn'T Ready

Pass me the blade,
Pass me the drugs,
Let these memories fade.
I wanna be so buzzed,
I can't remember your name.
Pass me the light,
Give me a burn,
This is where life takes a turn.
The only thing I know,
Is having fun and letting go.
Pass me the bong,
let me rip it long.
As the smoke clears,
I say good bye to my fears.
I wanna be so high,
That I can't remember your name,
All it does is bring me pain.
What a shame,
if one day,
I get to high,
texting you a lie,
saying I hate you,
because clearly I wasn't ready,
To say good bye.
