Was It Him? Poem by Ray Hansell

Was It Him?

Rating: 5.0

I walked into an empty church
I wasn't sure what to do
So I went and had a seat
There, in an empty pew

I put my hands together
Slowly bowed my head
I know I mumbled something
But I wasn't sure what I said

I stayed there for a while
My soul was at peace
The anxiousness that I felt
Slowly began, to decrease

All of a sudden I was at ease
Complete calm had come over me
Was it because of where I was?
Or was it Him who set me free

A piercing introspective poem about finding God, and it reminded me of a woman who asked me -" Just where do you think is heaven? Where is God really? " His Word says if we seek Him with all our hearts we will find Him.(Jeremiah 29: 13) Later on the Son of God said " the kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17: 21) This poem subtly confirms that the Presence of God comes upon us when we seek Him and hunger for Him. Amazing Truth.
