Warriors and lovers are one; both are in hot pursuit
Of their targets; that’s why all is fair in war and in love.
Distance makes them fall in and nearness makes them love;
And sobering live-ins make their home just business suit.
They fight, to win, to entertain, to practice, and wear suit
In action; their acts often play out in theaters, Oh- by Jove,
And the end is delivered too, there; Kings or Monks, love
Chase them all, either they resist or surrender in suit.
It all started once in heaven and all creations follow suit
In bitter rivalry ‘tween Snake and Man with a fruit and a love
For only one Eve; so, say marriage is made there or is it love?
To dwell there in Eden, you need love, no claim by lawsuit
Does love end in wedlock? Nay; locks open for many human affairs,
But love treks on beyond locks, unlocking, even in hell, heavenly affairs.
