There is a war
Wreaking havoc amongst simple lives
Absorbing, Destroying simple minds
Taking over bodies so there is no control
They seem dead, eyes glazed over
or a hyperactive mind
The monster is winning
Taking over the intimates
I am the only one fighting
My strong mind is what kills my relationships
The feeling of not being able to relate
I do not want to be like the rest
Slow with no personality
Or hyper with no energy later
This demon consumes my friends
I do not want to see them hurt
But I feel helpless in the end
Just trying to survive in this war
That is seen through my eyes.
