Wandering Zephyr Poem by Paula Glynn

Wandering Zephyr

He wanders earth, carrying tools for fire,
And tools for hunting and surviving,
He is a man from long ago, he is a Zephyr,
A man you could call a caveman,
But he is a hero for advancing the world,
And he goes on, forever walking in the sun.

And now here comes another man,
A man to build the world,
A bearer of all knowledge,
A man many label a hero,
For making the world a better place:
A man with true compassion and grace.

And now Samuel greets me,
As I walk into a room,
Because he is a man of his time:
He is a man who is not blind,
A man a admire for all the love he gives to the world,
He organises society, he gives hope.

My wandering Zephyr I call my son,
He is brave and he is young,
He has flaws, but he's seen the world,
He has walked those miles,
He has travelled those seas,
And he is my only son.

He has the money and time to give all attention,
And his compassion builds a community,
For all to enjoy, my wandering Zephyr,
A truly beautiful man with all the love in the world,
And many look up to see an airplane fly,
Its wings carrying a Zephyr to a new world:
A world he can carry on his shoulders,
With no pain or burden.
