Wanderer of the Night

He sets out on his endless journey.
Forever, he roams beneath empty skies.
Seeking for the light;
Eyes observing only black.
Nothing in sight.

The night he walks,
Never turning back.
For he is to continue until he finds the good.
Knowing that one day, he would.
Must he never give up,
For his lust for happiness is too strong,
And leaving will just lead to more wrong.

But the pain becomes overwhelming.
How must he continue fighting in this war of darkness?
No light on the opposing side,
He wonders why he even keeps trying.
For his eyes are forever full as his heart keeps him crying,
And inside he feels weak.
All he can do is fall to the ground.

His attention is brought to a sound.
He hears something is around ever so close.
Those tears he swipes away,
And his eyes observe the unbelievable…
Before him stands an Angel.
She helps him back up to his feet
And begins to speak.
“ Look beyond the darkness… Not through.”
Realizing this truth…
He looks past,
And at last he sees the light.
