Wander Back Poem by Fiona Davidson

Wander Back

Give me your hand
Come take a walk
Along the roadway
That leads to valleys
That spread out before us
Mountain peaks, proud before
Heads in the clouds, dreaming
Their covering of trees, a quilt
Multi-coloured from angels hands
Birds sing a lullaby for life
Grasses rustle and bend
As the wind sweeps through
Blowing its dust of memories
To settle beyond the horizon
In a haze of past and present
Sun sets blood red across the water
Leaving its tracks imprinted
In sparkles of pink and purple
That run back to the shore
Twilight greets our eyes with beauty
As we wander back to home
