Wall Poem by Kavitha Rai

Wall

How we built this
Towering wall
Here… not at all
There… absolutely right
I am yes, you are no
What you had told
It must happen
If you keep a brick
In level to which I kept
With every spoken word
We raised it
Tanning the anger inside
Draining true joy of the mind and face
Even poured metal
To harden the wall
Now,
I am not there
You are not there
Even while sitting and standing
The mind
Carries the brick
Along with it
See on the other side
The flower garden
Which is in smoke now
The water should be fed
Before this moment goes away
To speak we have to remove
Atleast one brick
If restrain slips, a crack occurs
The laughter left in a corner
Straight to your heart
This is how a wall is melted

Now a more serious poem indeed...Pent up emotions there...don't want to tell it as it is..not so soon, at least...All walled up feelings. Us, humans. Good write. Cheers. Subroto

she made it lovely, like a minaret... Tanning the anger inside Draining true joy of the mind and face

somehow this poem reminds me one of Frost's poem...'Mending wall' here I find the wall more concrete...but watering may find a crack and timely it will melt...the metaphor is well placed..liked reading it.
