Walking Feet Poem by Success Audrey Sam

Walking Feet

Rating: 5.0

Walking feet, walking feet
tell your story to the waiting feet
from time have you come
to time are you gone.
Tell of how through great mountains you have climbed
stepping on thorns and knives
bleeding in the red rain
as your blood joins the bloodline of great men
you are lost in history.

walking feet, walking feet
tell them of your waiting plea
in the race of life have you ran
losing, winning, and still strong
In the mist of greater competitors
nothing made you wrong

walking feet, walking feet
see how the toddler wants to overcome
forgetting that you have been there before
It is not that you have given up
You are taking your time
You have known speed, you have known gentle walk
So, if the toddler runs where it should go slow
you cross those legs of yours

walking feet, walking feet
how does the sea taste so sweet?
You have sat at its shore
as you watch castles fall
Waves in and out
Cleaning writings on the sand.
People entering to swim,
people never fulfilling their dreams

walking feet, walking feet
you have written with blood ink
Now, we are yet to decide
why should we lose one more life?
At the table of minds,
and at sight of the eyes,
we sit to not be indecisive
for freedom can be expensive

walking feet, walking feet
go now into the future
tell them of the story now
we hope they learn
Not another mistake ever corrects

tell your story WALKING FEET

Insightful sonorous train of thought, well articulated and nicely brought for in beautiful diction with conviction. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing Audrey.
