Waiting Poem by Hannah Crane

Waiting

I thought that I knew all this before we started,
But we chose this for us anyway.
It was only a matter of time ‘til you parted,
And I still want you back here today.

While apart, seven months has passed.
Four thousand miles separates us.
The distance between us is vast,
But you know that I only digress,

Because what we have is worth the pain.
What we have can wait forever.
What we have will bring us through.
So until you board that plane
Think of this as a fetter
That is binding my heart to you.
