Virtual World Poem by Jaishree Nair

Virtual World

Rating: 5.0

The hairless hairdo squatters
The roadside bystanders
with heads bent, fingers poised
oblivious to the pulse of movements near.

Swiping and scrolling in the labyrinth of technology
entangled in the web of apples and'i's
Like a bubble about to burst
at the merest of provocations.

Kith and kin on line connections
unconcerned of the lives breathing near
Eyes glazed with a vacant look
The whites a dangling noose from ear.

The scented breeze of petrichor
The morn drops and the moonspots pool
The goldenrays of sun of hopes
The lethargy of the dusk of lassitude.

The sly cheekiness of the moon romancing
with the dainty docile stars prancing
The veil of darkness caressing the day
The naughty silver pranking with the lovers.

These nature's bounty to the peers junior
in 4d vision apps of time's weirdos
The perfect copy without the sensory sensations
but enough for the automation fanatics.

Not realising the boon of the gifted boon
Happily unhappy in the virtual world
Like a bubble floating in the spring of life's capsule
The weilders of tomorrow's reins.

Delving into the quicksand of Time's snares
unmindful of the tears of blood
Willingly lost in the maze of virtual estate
These princes of future kingdom
