The reason I love you,
your heart is true,
expressions of love,
from a male friend,
sadness in his voice,
on the end of the eternal vortex,
of distance,
yes I know he has been drinking,
and yes I know he feels alone,
but it is heart that is true,
confused, lost and lonely,
but dear to me too,
nothing in life goes,
as you might have wished,
love is lost and sometimes gained,
but if you are true to your heart,
you will remain friends.
