Villain Elle Poem by Rachael Swiss

Villain Elle

“The girl is wicked”, so they say,
“A succubus, she’ll cause you pain -
She doesn’t love you anyway.”

She cries for him most every day;
Sorrow such as this one cannot feign.
“The girl is wicked”, so they say.

He tries to hold his heart at bay
And yet he finds he can’t refrain,
“She doesn’t love you anyway.”

Her star going nova paving his way,
A volcanic eruption inside her brain…
“The girl is wicked”, so they say.

Commit yourself and come what may,
In both love and war risk being slain
“She doesn’t love you anyway.”

All is black and white, never shades of grey,
Love with passionate fury or else abstain,
“The girl is wicked”, so they say,
“She doesn’t love you anyway.”
