Vent The Flame Poem by Ryan Holmes

Vent The Flame

Rating: 2.5

A happy face is painted on
The sorrow stricken tears are gone
It's just my thoughts that betry me
Thoughts you can't hear, thoughts you can't see

So I'm safe from your damn questions
'Cause to you there is nothing wrong
But it's just a matter of when
Until I snap, it won't be long

I feel my rage that builds inside
I feel terror that won't abide
The sadness seeps out of my eyes
I hold it back, I must not cry

I hear the voices in my mind
They tell me things, they whisper lies
They vent the flame that is my hate
I hold it back, yet that creates

Resentment for you one and all
Like a fire upon my shoulders
It's burning me, I'm forced to crawl
My smoldered soul's now in embers
