Valley Of The Dolls Poem by Ethan Albrecht

Valley Of The Dolls

Rating: 3.5

You lay awake at night crying through the pain
When the masks eat away at your soul.
You will never be yourself again
When you're living in the Valley of The Dolls.

When you rip off your mask to put on a different one,
You lose a piece of yourself every time
Until there's nothing left.
You lay awake at night crying through the pain.

Once all emotion withers away,
The numbness inhabits you.
You slowly lose your humanity
When the masks eat away at your soul.

Once you've shattered your own mask,
Nothing will ever be the same.
After your skin hardens, you realize
You'll never be the same again.

Your whole being is now made of porcelain.
Impervious to emotional pain.
People like you come a dime a dozen
When you're living in the Valley of The Dolls.

"Once all emotion withers away" Very graphic, and powerful poem.
