Valentines' Day

Today is Valentine's Day- Day of Love!
Days of Roses, Hugs, Kisses.., are all gone.
Now all will love each other on full blow
Roads, offices, buses, parks,
School, colleges - all will with love overflow.

Malls, multiplexes will be full,
Ubers, Olas will fly, Roses will sell sky high,
With large mobiles, all will be ‘Net mad bull
Showing off undying love…nothing useful.
Drink they will, as is the social status,
After all, it's Love day to show ribald afflatus.

Told my wife to come along for a day out
To celebrate and show our love.
She told me to finish breakfast and go to office -
Today I have to arrange some money..
No salary for two months due to note ban,
Big school fees for my little girl and coaching fees
For my son are pending…wife got an aching tooth-
I have to do something today - right!

But it's a small issue - after all we have to raise our economy!
Few millions didn't get salaries, a few millions here and there
Either already lost or on the verge of losing their jobs..so what!
Our growth is still 7% - better than China…so?

Thus out I went without any love now,
To try to arrange some money anyhow.

After office, managed some money,
And seen love - Ah! All around papers, TVs,
Streets, buses, cars, auto and what
Fulfilling language! How loving and well everybody is!

Gone through a lot of love recently -
Kashmir's, Syria's, Trump's, Xinfing's, Modi's,
Putins, Erdogan's, RSS's, Love of Note ban and Brexit,
Love of bombings hospitals,
Love of destruction of historical sites by IS,
Love of seeing children drown in the Mediterranean…
Full of love for everyone…open hugs and kisses everywhere.
I was feeling proud - the USA, the Europe, Japan,
See… like you we also are racists and skin color sensitive,
And we are also equal in culture!


Told my wife on return, you missed real love!
She asked me about the money;
I assured that I could manage half -
She said, don't worry..try some more tomorrow,
We'll meet both ends, honey, somehow!

Thereafter nothing…
Seen some snippets of TV soaps,
Laughed with two Facebook posts with my wife,
Had some time with our children,
Had dinner together.
She allegedly can't consume one full dessert,
So, I had to take the other half.

I told my wife at bedtime, we lost the V day..should've been out for dinner,
She replied, everyday is our V day - - have always quality time together.
