Vacancy For A Worshipper Poem by Chris Jibero

Vacancy For A Worshipper

This vacancy exists
In the house of God
And it is begging to be filled
For the good of he that shall
Be considered eligible
And thus recruited
But the job description
Is scary to the simple
The egocentric and the dubious
God seeks not for a competitor
A rival nor a nonchalant passenger
He is looking for just a worshipper
In spirit and in truth
Somebody that shall be utterly devoted
Somebody who shall honour Him forever
Somebody who shall adore Him with his all
Somebody whose love shall be genuine
Somebody who shall be committed in fellowship
Somebody who shall be diligent in service
Somebody who shall deny himself, carry the cross
And follow Him daily without care of the world
Somebody with whom He shall establish eternal
Relationship that transcends gain and pain
Somebody who shall transform from Saul the destroyer
To Paul the lover, the restorer and the builder

A worshipper is royal to his creator
He is faithful like a true spouse
He is bold but humble
He is upright and just
He is not ashamed to declare his love for God
He prays and meditates regularly
But not often a requester from God
A worshipper does not so in flesh and in lies
He swears not but his yeah is yeah
And nay, nay
Even at the cost of his comfort and life
He is neither a backbiter nor a backstabber
He is full of songs of praise and worship
A worshipper is sold out on God
And his remuneration is good success
On and off seasons, a life of evident testimonies.
