I just received a text
That a friend has passed away
What a terrible ending
To an otherwise wonderful day
It seems the older that we get
The more friends we lose along the way
Right now I'm kind of speechless
Lost for words to say
I know he'll be safe now
Resting in God's hands
A giant of a fellow
And a very thoughful man
