Utopic Daydream Poem by Lilly Solares

Utopic Daydream

I don't ask for everything...
I won't ask for the moon and the stars
I don't need the world to have
I don't ask for complicated things you don't have
...and I don't need...
I need time alone with you to watch the sky
and find endless shapes in the clouds up high...
breathe fresh air and sigh...
sit down to talk and watch the crowds go by.

I want to stay with you whithout a sound
and at the same time to also have it the other way around
I'd love to read the story of a lifetime
and feel that I have found...
someone who really gets who I am
a normal girl who's not so normal
and wants to find something profound
and as the dictionary says:
“from the depths of being and complete”
and like Barrett Browning I'd list all the ways I would love thee,
in my ideal world... where butterflies fly up high and everything seems perfect... but only when you're around.

I'm not looking for perfection... I'm only looking for you
and even though it seems unreal and out of sight
I don't mind... I have no rush
I know you're out there...
and when we meet I just wanted you to know
I am a normal girl who's not so normal
looking for every single thing you have...
and I don't mind, I will be here...
reading the stories of a lifetime
wating for something I know is comming
living happily every single moment of this utopic daydream of mine
in which...I want to believe you're real...
