Use That! Poem by Ian Blake

Use That!

Rating: 3.5

yes well inasmuch as
chatter keeps the dark away
and night-lights being lame
off to tie two cans together
goes the boy
with dreams of friendship
and suspension bridges

soon it will occur to him
the whispers go occult around the rim
and the blood-moon soaks into the twine
if the wolfman lays his jowls on the line
roger roger roger
to his growls yes i copy
menace me in cryptogram
i’ll decode
for i am not faithless

i knew what i was getting into
when i cast this can out
like a skipping stone
in the ocean by my window
there was a chance
it would die before atlantis
which is an awful lot of skips
from here

kein kein kein kein kein kein
keine Angst Liebchen

i won’t refuse vibrations
or deny centrifugal motion
especially not now
and chatter keeps the dark away
anyhow.

strong use of sound and the images have been used cleverly!
