Urgent Rage Poem by tess fielders

Urgent Rage

Rating: 5.0

URGENT RAGE
Boring… Spiralling…
Dark tunnel of urgent rage

Searching unerringly for inception
Original moment
same pain known so well

Sliding silently beneath tumult of thought
Down deep beyond where darkness lies
Facing ‘Illusion’
Fumbling with the gauge

Why do I reach this place below
While others travel past above
Not seeing further than the bridge
From which the wasted fell

Life goes on in city streets
Paper cut-outs passing by
Each alone pretending still
That all sit neatly on one page

Far below the pavement hard
Of conscious mind beset
Lies territory seldom seen
Where games of life are hell

Buried drives, they mock and scream
Until we shake them free
But not before we’ve tamed their heat
And tempered urgent rage
