Upside Down Sighting Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Upside Down Sighting

Maybe I'm looking at this,
all upside down.
Maybe I'm not really looking beyond the picture.
I'm trying for you,
trying to keep calm.
Do you realize what I do for you?
Probably not.
If dad were here,
he'd tell me to think it through.
No, on second thought,
he'd tell me not to talk about it.
If only I could collect my thoughts like goldfish,
I'd flush them one by one.
Starting with the thoughts of you.
My heart aches with the idea of being held by you.
Your hands on me, makes my head spin.
Caress me, kiss me, embrace me.
No, what am I saying?
I can't give in this time.
You're a liar, a liar.
I have some self respect don't I?
Maybe, maybe not.
What's left to do?
Let's get high and listen to Pink Floyd.

There's a picture for my poem, along with a few others.
