'Until Now' Poem by L.C. Morgan

'Until Now'

I wrote the word ‘LOVE’ on me
Because it reminds me of you
When my eyes are glazed by tears, it makes me see
That you’ve been with me all the way through

I wear on my finger this ring
The one you bought me in hopes to show me
What’s on my back, guiding me; my wings
With these wings you made me, I can finally be free

I hold your sweatshirt as a sense of protection
Envisioning your eyes when I am alone & scared
You are my absolute perfection
& you were the only one that’s ever truly cared

I will never forget you
You were the first to prove me wrong
You made me trust that love can be true
Turn on the radio – it’s our song

I love you so much
No one’s ever showed me what I could be
No one’s ever felt like your touch
No one’s ever said, ‘I need you here, please stay with me’
No one’s ever wiped away the tears I cried
& no one’s ever chosen to love me instead of suicide.
…. Until now.
