Unsent Poem by Jack Delasquez

Unsent

We entered each others world
through the collision of souls
the idyllic embrace
revealed our matching folds.

Though the time we spent together
was that of a few
the incense of love shone
as the candle lit true.

Reality kept us
at a distance of apart
her letters captured
my well hidden heart.

When the time came to
make rest of the pen
enticing thoughts beckoned me
as I was to her again.

Beneath the heat of my hands
and her well timed face
we locked our lips with
love that knew no haste.

Her intelligent beauty
loosened my heart to a thread
as her love stitched the pieces
to the lining of her soul
