Unrequited Poem by sarya the bear

Unrequited

It cannot be called 'love unrequited'
If any love has been returned
Despite the fact I have longed so hard
Or how I have desperately yearned

If it was truly love in the first place-
From the purest of seeds
And the purest of thoughts
I would not seek all
or want nothing

Nor let impossibility taunt.

I would not ask for a special some one
To be something they're not
Even if it included
Loving me this way...

It would not be the person I want.

Nor would it be the person
That I would want to stay.

So I embrace any love you give to me
Content this affection
Slips not, away.

If it must be crystallised in friendship,
then,

At least it shall never decay.
