Unrequited Poem by Matthew English

Unrequited

I give all i can, but there’s nothing
for me to take. Nothing in life is one sided,
but how can this be compared with love
when flat is two dimensional.
Two… That all it takes for love- to work.
Both sides of consent, male or female.
Simplicity.. i don’t know.
Wherever i look i see you, dont even try-
wherever you look, do you see me? no-
you look through your filter, white balance set-
My heart filters away, my body feels cold.
A contrast to your heat over him.. not me.
Why not render out what we had? Its fine
to only remember the feel of your lips
and to be captured, no lost in the pool of your eyes.
This maze is just the curse of my unrequited love.
