University Of Life Poem by Je'free Y .

University Of Life

We are the undergraduates of everyday,
From the first morning yawn
To the time we merge the freeway;
From the moment we harvest a lesson
Like a daffodil that waits to be picked
To the last lullaby we sing to our dog
Needing recharged energy the next day.

We are the scholars experimenting,
Proving theories of love, until we realize
It is a singular life after all;
Or maybe, we are discovering heroes,
Until we realize the preachers of good
Know what evil truly means,
Disguising themselves in hypocrisy,
Needing followers so not to feel alone.

We are the apprentices of the world,
From the time we pick up
The dreaded newspaper
To the time we watch late night news,
Until we start snoozing, snoring,
Then waking up to the next chapter
Of countless lectures, seminars,
Tutorials to digest.
