United We Stand Poem by Richard Jarboe

United We Stand

Rating: 5.0

What good does it do,
To profile each other?
Our roots are the same,
Our blood the same color.

Shade of our skin changed,
By travel north or south,
Genetics from the sun,
Once the migration was done.

It's a simple explanation,
Distrust of one another,
Villages turned to nations,
Separating one from another.

Everything is too big now,
The Death Machine's humungus,
But good air, sweet water, and original soil,
Will stop the killing among us.
