Unexpected Loss Poem by Phil Soar

Unexpected Loss

Rating: 4.0

Unexpected, death took her away
And left her friends to rue how fast she'd gone
Nothing could have helped her on the day
Her life was over, and her time had come.

Though seeming to be well, she didn't know
That 24 hours earlier she'd be
An unexpected loss, and such a blow
And now she's just a pleasant memory.

While sadness at the time was so extreme
She'd love the way her passing was reported
And even though her mind no longer dreams
Through her passing she will be escorted.

And only when she gets to heavens door
Will friends and family have to depart
They'll miss the lady they had loved before
But will always keep her deep within their hearts.
