Unexpected Angels Poem by Charles Mackintosh

Unexpected Angels

He sent me some angels, I'll never know why;
I was crippled and broken, just waiting to die,
But they laughed and they danced and they comforted me
And they helped me stand up and let it all be.

Their laughter and comfort has taught me there's more
Than mere hell in the darkness with demons in score,
For I've nothing to lose now, it's lost long ago,
And the path is in front and I'm taking it slow.

I needed to learn there's a life there to lead
And His angels said, take it, there's no need to plead;
Though your path is unknown we can promise you this:
You'll find light in the darkness and moments of bliss.
