Underneath The Overcoat Poem by Armmina Liberté Maclang

Underneath The Overcoat

Everybody loves this man.
They love his outside shell.
But the story of the man inside-
A cover could never tell.

I long to reach inside of him,
And see his inner core.
He isn’t just a handsome face;
I know there’s something more.

I do not care about his riches;
I do not care of what he wears.
I care about the knight inside,
All the joy and pain he bears.

I know that he is gallant from the inside-out.
And this you should carefully take note:
I’m not looking for the man dressed in black;
I’m looking underneath the overcoat.
